PhotoCampMilwaukee will be held on Saturday May 2, 2009 at Bucketworks in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The web site, http://photocampmilwaukee.org, will provide you with all of the information you need to become a part of the event.

What is PhotoCampMilwaukee?

PhotoCampMilwaukee is a BarCamp-like event fully focused on photography. It’s an ad-hoc “un-conference” where people who love photography can get together and teach what they know, and learn what they don’t. It’s about sharing in an open environment. Everyone has experience to share, and getting everyone together in one place, for a full day, seems like a great way to do it.

You don’t have to be a great photographer to attend, you just have to bring your passion for photography. The event will be free (thanks to sponsors) and the only entrance fee is your participation.

If you want to get involved in the planning, please join their Google Group PhotoCampMKE.

The team here has been working hard the past few weeks to bring you a better iLovePhotos. We’re so grateful for all of the feedback that you’ve provided via our forum, the support tickets and crash reports you’ve submitted, and feedback we’ve received at feedback@ilovephotos.com. We’re dedicated to improving your photo experience, and nothing helps us do that more than hearing from you.

The greatest improvement you’ll discover in our latest release is increased stability during sharing. We spent quite a bit of time analyzing the various problems users like you have discovered with sharing, and we’re sure that these improvements will give you a much better experience sharing photos with your friends and family.

Here is a quick run-down of the new features and improvements in this release:

  • Numerous performance improvements including faster iPhoto syncing and auto-saving
  • The type-to-tag tagging user interface has been redesigned — start typing a person’s name while a face is selected, and hit enter to tag them
  • A progress bar when exporting a slideshow movie has been added, so you know what iLovePhotos is doing and when it’s finished
  • A guided walk-through of core features for first-time users

What you can look forward to in the near future:

  • Face recognition! We’re working around the clock to bring you facial recognition to truly make tagging your friends and family a snap
  • You’ll soon have the ability to export and share your photos on 3rd party services such as Facebook and Flickr

Support and feedback:

Mahalo for your support! We look forward to helping you fall in love with your photos again.

iLovePhotos: The Photo Lovers

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

iLovePhotos is Mac software created by Blue Lava Technologies, a Hawaii-based venture developing technology to fundamentally change the way you interact with digital photos.

The Photo Lovers

The Photo Lovers

We are passionate Photo Lovers.  We take photos.  We take too many photos.  We have way too many photos and no time to organize them, much less enjoy them.

It didn’t take us long to figure out that we were not the only ones, so we decided to do something about it. Our initial frustration has turned into a deep passion to bring digital photos out of the shoebox and back into people’s lives.

Instead of spending hours organizing your photos, with iLovePhotos you’ll spend hours enjoying them. We’re dedicated to improving your photo experience with what is most important to you.

We’re the Photo Lovers, nice to meet you!

Our iLovePhotos Twitter account (@ilovephotos) allows us to meet awesome people who are interested in photography both at a professional and amateur level.  A couple of weeks ago, I met this really cool guy from Coimbra, Portugal called Felix (@F3lixP) who shoots amazing photos and loves everything about lomography.

Today he created this cool tryptich that gives out a powerful message:

My sister, Denisse, recently took a trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina and she had a great time.  I was not able to join my family during these December holidays and I was pretty bummed out about it.  However, my sister had an idea to cheer me up.  Earlier on October 2008 I mailed my family a couple of iLovePhotos T-shirts, so she thought “how about I take some of them to Argentina, wear them around the different places I visit, take some photos, and then share these photos with my brother using iLovePhotos?”

Here are some of the photo she shared with me:

The streets of Buenos Aires are filled with music.

The streets of Buenos Aires are filled with music. You can find it in the streets...

At restaurants.

...at restaurants...

...outside of football stadiums..

...outside of football stadiums..

...and even on the walls!

...and even on the walls!

You cannot hide from it.

You cannot hide from it.

So you just have to dance!

So you just have to dance!

Hope you liked this set of photos from my sister’s trip to Buenos Aires.  If you would like to see more pictures from contemporary Argentina try this photoblog: Filling the Frame.
